Ana Tinajero Massicot is a student by day and a professional instructor, choreographer, and performer by night.  Born on July 27, 1982, she was raised of Mexican descent in Dallas, Texas.

Between the ages of 5 and 11, she trained in the traditional dance form, folklórico.  At the age of 15, she set foot for the first time in a salsa/merengue nightclub where she was exposed to what is known as "cumbia-style" salsa.  She instantly fell in love with the dance, and it quickly became her passion.

As a gift for graduating valedictorian from one of the top-ranking Texas high schools, Science and Engineering Magnet, Ana's sister invited her on a road trip to attend the 2nd Annual West Coast Salsa Congress.  It was at this event that the elegance of the dancers gave her a truly powerful appreciation for the artform.

Ana returned to Dallas determined to work toward a style she could call her own.  During the summer of 2000, she conducted research in materials engineering at Texas Instruments and devoted her free time to practicing salsa.

That fall she moved to Boston, MA, where she is currently majoring in business  at Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management.  During September 2000, she joined the MIT Casino Rueda performance group and began taking classes with the MIT Movements in Time Dance Company,  an inspiring modern ballet and jazz group.

In November, she met Anara Frank, the director of a non-profit organization called JAM'NASTICS, Inc., which offers kid and adult dance programs in Latin, hip-hop, gymnastics and breakdancing.  She joined the staff as a salsa instructor in January of 2001, teaching both children and adult classes.

Ana has taken a periodic private with various salsa/mambo instructors (Sammy Lopez, Gina Benitez, Candy Mena, Thomas Guererro, Nydia Ocasio, Seaon Stylist).  Today, she continues to work towards her bachelor’s degree and has founded an arts company, Masacote Entertainment, with her husband Joel Massicot. With his help and support, she continues to do what she loves the most: dance.

Ana dances and teaches both On 1 and On 2.  She has developed a distinctive style and body movement technique that keeps turning heads everywhere she dances.
