Ana
and Joel “Masacote” Massicot, founders
of Masacote Entertainment, met on December 22, 2001 on a visit
to a New York City social. A month later, that friendship became
a relationship, and they officially became dance partners. |
| Ana,
then living in Cambridge, MA, and Joel, then living in Los Angeles,
CA, were committed to a long distance relationship. They met for
a couple of weeks every two months and debuted their first choreography
on January 3, 2003 at Sportsman’s Lodge, located in Culver
City, CA. The couple has been performing together ever since. |

Married
on Valentine’s Day of 2003, Mr. and Mrs. Massicot dance
and teach salsa on 1, mambo on 2, and cha cha cha. Their business,
Masacote Entertainment, collaborates often with JAM’NASTICS,
Inc., a non-profit organization located in Cambridge, MA. |
Known
for their rare and unique control of their body movement, the
duet is dedicated to conveying a message through their choreography,
using dance as a form of self-expression. They hope to
take salsa to an artistic level, fusing the intoxicating rhythms
of music with the sensual Latin movements of dance in a unique
musical interpretation.
