Ana and Joel Masacote Biography
This husband and wife team is one of the most sought after in salsa/mambo. Respected for their artistry and musicality, they have taken the interpretation of Salsa Dance to new heights.
Ana and Joel Masacote have taught in over 14 countries, throughout the US and Canada. They are booked as far as a year in advance and almost every weekend in between to teach and perform around the world. Currently they embark on 2-5 week European, Asian and US tours ever 2-3 months.
When not traveling to some exotic country, you can find Ana and Joel in Boston, MA teaching advanced master classes and their professional dance troupe of instructors in the Masacote School and Dance Company. History
This powerhouse duo teamed up together in 2003 to merge their individual talents of music, dance, costuming, theater, business, martial arts, and photography, and founded the company, Masacote Entertainment.
In 2006, they formed the Masacote Salsa Dance Company and later that year led the troupe to become the first salsa company to perform and choreograph to music created by them and for them with Joel Masacote's first Latin jazz album MASACOTE. In 2008, they produced the first Salsa Dance Theater production of music and dance combined.

- December 2001: Ana and Joel Masacote meet and team up to found Masacote Entertainment.
- January 2003: Ana and Joel Masacote perform their first duo choreography, Mambo Gallego.
- October 2003: Ana and Joel debut Take Five in Japan. The performance is immediately booked around the world.
- September 2004: Auditions are held for Masacote Salsa Dance Company.
- February 2006: Masacote Dance Company (MDC) Debuts it's first company work.
- May 2006: Ritmo Masacote Releases it's first album "Masacote". The MDC performs it's first work, Masacote, to Ritmo Masacote's music.
- February 2007: The MDC premieres it's first full company choreography, 5 Beat Mambo, to Ritmo Masacote's music.
- May 2008: World Premiere of "Fantagious" Theater. MDC becomes the first Salsa dance company to produce a Salsa Dance Theater Show combining Music and Dance.
