Lee was born on September 22, 1977 in Killeen, Texas, raised in a Puerto Rican, military family.  He was drawn into the art of Salsa from an early age, when the movie “Salsa” became his inspiration in the early 80’s.  The seed was planted then, ready to grow, but put on hold due to military and traveling circumstances.

At the early age of twelve, this seed was finally nourished when he joined a local group called Nuestras Raices.  The group gave him an opportunity to study and perform with them and learn the rhythm and nature of Puerto Rican folklore and Salsa.

During high school, Lee led the typical teenage life.  He was an athlete, a prominent leader in the J.R.O.T.C., and participated actively in his local church.  He later led the early part of his adult life into the banking career, climbing up the ladder to the management positions.  However, time and again he would find emptiness in his heart: his hunger for dancing had grown to an all time high.  At the age of 20, with the encouragement of his peers, Lee took a leap of faith and made dancing his full time occupation, pursuing his love for salsa.

In 1999, Lee and his partner ventured into the competitive arena.  Their successes gained them immediate recognition and led Lee to begin teaching and performing his unique style in San Antonio.  He soon became a pioneer of the salsa scene in Texas and later formed a dance company called Semeneya.  Since then, Lee and Semeneya have traveled internationally to places such as Germany, Russia, Spain, Puerto Rico, Belgium, Italy, Mexico, and Bermuda, as well as domestically to numerous cities within the United States.

In his early years of dancing Lee ran across Ana Tinajero, who came to be one his biggest inspirations in dance.  In January 2005, Lee decided to take the opportunity to learn and grow with guidance from Ana and Joel Massicot by joining Masacote Dance Company, thus realizing they are still a big inspiration to his art of dance.

Lee currently lives in San Antonio, TX.
He travels to Boston for periods of time for practice.
