Analysis:
Joel and I choreographed
this 2 minute routine for a competition in Los Angeles. I didn't
get to visit Joel until the week of the prelims, so we only had a week
to choreograph it; that was an interesting week, to say the least.
At first I thought we would only use it for the competition, but we
liked the routine so much and got such great feedback that we decided
not to get rid of it and instead make modifications to it.
We decided to make
our choreography as similar to our actual dancing as possible,
so that we would give the audience exactly what they came for: dancing.
Thus, we also strayed away from flashy dips and instead used eye-catching
moves and body movement.

Furthermore, we
decided to incorporate a lot of Tango movement into it, not only because
we felt the music called for it but also because we wanted to do something
unique, something other than traditional salsa that interests the two
of us a great deal. Get ready. You'll see more of this Tango-Salsa
in the future.....
