Sheila started ballet training at age 5 in her home city of Taipei, Taiwan, and continued through her young adulthood in Los Angeles. She studied at Westside Ballet in Santa Monica, Californa; as well as San Francisco Ballet School.

She started studying modern, jazz, and hip hop with the performing arts group at her high school, and with various Los Angeles area instructors. Her introduction to partner dancing came in the form of a salsa performance during high school.

Sheila attended the Tisch School of Arts at New York University, studying dance performance and choreography.

After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Economics and Business Administration, she worked for three years as a financial analyst on Wall Street.

Sheila was introduced to Mambo in New York in 2003. Her mambo ‘training’ has mostly been informal: consisting of on-the-spot leveraging her previous dance training when dancing in clubs.

She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in International Relations.

Sheila joined Sabor Masacote Dance Company in March 2006.  She is delighted to join Masacote and be able to continue her passion for dancing and performing.
